EVERGOODS CAS1 Review: The Perfect 1L EDC Sling?

The Evergoods Civic Access Sling 1L arrived only a few weeks before this review, but instead of rushing out first impressions, it went through real daily use first. The result is a compact 1L sling that leans into the brand's reputation for quality materials and thoughtful design, aimed at both everyday carry and travel use.

Build and Materials

Evergoods keeps its premium reputation intact here with a materials list that explains why the brand sits at the higher end of the price spectrum.

• Exterior: 840D ballistic nylon with a balanced weave, meaning the yarns run evenly in both directions for a consistent cut and feel across the whole panel. It carries a DWR coating.
• Interior lining: 210D nylon 6,6 with a PU coating and silicone finish, a gray lining used across most of the Evergoods lineup (outside of X-Pac and some collaborative releases). It's described here as one of the best linings on the market.
• Zippers: YKK throughout, with 8RC on the exterior and 5RC on the interior.
• Buckle: A DuraFlex Phantom buckle, noted for its crisp, solid click.

The current color is a black "solution dye" green. There was no 1L X-Pac version released alongside the recent X-Pac drop, though future collaborative or X-Pac editions are a possibility worth watching if you prefer those materials.

The back panel is a breathable mesh over a foam layer, described as one of the areas Evergoods has refined over time. Because it's a small pouch, there's no top handle; the strap alone is used for carrying.

The Civic Access Sling 1L is positioned for two main use cases:

One noted limitation is the lack of a dedicated pocket, such as a slim slot between panels for a passport, which would strengthen its travel-sling appeal. Aside from that, it earns a strong recommendation, with the main compartment handling essentials well and room outside for a water bottle like a Kinto if you shed an item or two.

If you want a small, well-built sling that keeps your everyday items organized and visible, and you value premium materials over maximum capacity, this is a compelling option.
